Color Administration Form

An Inquiry into your schema

“What is your nickname? What is your favorite color?”

Tell me the crayon you wore to a nub or a Pantone number? Tell me a memory, or a feeling associated with the color? Tell me your non-legal identifier (nickname)?

The Favorite Color card begins with a simple question: what is your favorite color? Participants are invited to describe it in any way they choose — a crayon worn to the nub, a Pantone number, a memory, or a feeling associated with the color.

The reverse side of the card offers a space for a nickname or casual form of address, presented in the format of a formal designation form. Together, these two small pieces of information create an unexpectedly intimate exchange. A nickname suggests familiarity, while a favorite color often carries personal associations that are rarely articulated.

Framed through the language and structure of institutional paperwork, the card transforms an ordinary question into a moment of reflection. Participants are encouraged to consider how small preferences and memories contribute to the internal patterns that shape identity.

Like the other cards in this series, Favorite Color uses the familiar format of a form to explore everyday social negotiations. By inviting participants to share something simple yet personal, the work creates a brief encounter with the quiet details that make each person distinct
